We provide a 24/7 Telecare call monitoring service for individuals in their own home enabling people to maintain their independence and well-being safely and securely. Our service is provided through the medium of Welsh or English with support accessed for other languages or for those with impairments. We have national coverage and are available for the public and private sector.
What is Telecare?
Telecare or assistive technology can give peace of mind that someone is at hand if you need assistance or in the event of an emergency.
Technology surrounds us in our homes, cars, workplaces, shops and often it is on us, either carried to communicate with loved ones, organise our day or count how many steps we have taken. More people are using Telecare technology within the home to support themselves to remain safe and independent.
Telecare equipment can be installed in the home with sensors designed to monitor and manage the risks associated with independent living.
How does Telecare work?
Help at the touch of a button
The basic Telecare system is easy to install. It includes a base unit connected to your telephone and a portable radio trigger which can be worn as a pendant around your neck or strapped on your wrist. The unit will be pre-programmed with our contact details. Several models of telecare base units are available including analogue, digital or mobile Telecare units.
- Just press the button on your pendant or the red button on the base unit
- The unit will generate a telephone call to the Call Monitoring Centre
They will then coordinate the help you need by phoning your named contacts [family, friends, your doctor, or the emergency services] as necessary.
